Synopsis

Using a dating app to find someone willing to sell their tools for cheap might be unconventional, but it wasn’t like I was having any luck finding my person on them. I’m about to give up on my search for love, and tools, when Hayden messages me.

Not only is my stolen-tool problem solved, but it turns out he’s a great guy, and we quickly become friends. But the more time we spend together, the more I notice something between us.

Watching Hayden lose control is everything. So is knowing he can’t stay away from me, either.

River and Hayden’s story is a friends to lovers, bi-awakening romance. You can expect voyeurism, tons of heat, lots of dirty talk, and all the feels as these two clueless guys navigate the line between besties and boyfriends. It is the fourth standalone in the exciting new Crimson Club series but can be read as a standalone.

This is a sweet, funny story that is part of a series. You meet most of the characters in earlier books but actually, I think this works on its own.
We haven’t really got to know River in the earlier stories other than his comic side; here we get to see how different he is to Zane. He’s so open that he doesn’t always realise that things could be interpreted differently. When he meets Hayden, they click and a friendship develops. That they met on a dating app goes over his head, so for Hayden things appear different.
I really loved the way these two actually communicate as they work through the changing dynamic of their relationship. It would have been so easy for the author to have gone the misunderstandings/angsty route. Instead, we get a far lighter; fun romance about two guys that really are perfect for each other. I loved how River throws himself into the physical side of the relationship and they are super hot together.
A very enjoyable addition to a great series.

* 3.5 Stars *
This was pretty average. It had a good beginning, with the characters connecting through a dating app and becoming friends, but it moved too fast.
River switching gears so easily and embracing his newly discovered bi identity was actually nice. There was no bi freak out.
I wished for more page time with just Zane and River. I’m glad Zane was present in many scenes, but I wanted to see more of their connection and twin bond.
Once again, there’s a boss that crosses his employees, and they have to figure out what to do, but we’ve already seen that in this series.
Next up is Quinn, and I’ve been waiting for his story ever since he was first introduced, so I’m excited to see what the author will come up with for his HEA.

What can I say about myself? It’s kind of like being the new kid in school and being asked to tell everyone a bit about yourself. Anyone else forget everything they’ve ever liked, thought of, and even their name in those moments?

A few facts about me; I’m a veteran, I’m Canadian, and I love books! I’ve been writing my own stories since I was eight and wrote my first novel at sixteen. I’m the first to admit those attempts weren’t my best work, but they started me on a journey of creating stories that has led me to fulfilling my dream of becoming an author. I’ve written and published in several genres under different names, but MM is by far my favorite, and I’m so happy to be able to share my stories with people today.

I currently live on Canada’s east coast with my kiddo and my cats. I have a shoe collecting addiction, and I enjoy taking long walks, discussions with friends, and reading anything and everything I can get my hands on.
