Synopsis

Just when I think my life can’t get any weirder, a mysterious stranger comes to the club and offers me a crap-ton of cash to pose as his boyfriend for ninety days.

The job sounds simple enough. Evan is as rich as he is hot, and he says he doesn’t expect anything from me other than my acting skills. If we can pull it off and fool his friends and family, he gets his inheritance. I get a new wardrobe, a huge payout, and a chance to see how the other half lives.

But as time goes on and I find myself becoming more involved in Evan’s world, I realize things aren’t always as they seem.

On the outside Evan is a buttoned-up, boring businessman. But when he starts receiving letters threatening not only himself, but also me, I find out who he truly is.

And the only person who’s ever made me feel seen.

Nick and Evan’s story is a fake relationship with benefits romance between a wealthy business mogul and a younger stripper with a heart of gold. Expect lots of heat, tons of banter, and all the feels as these two men realize that sometimes opposites really do attract. It is the second book in the exciting new Crimson Club series but can be read as a standalone.

This is book two in the Crimson Club series (which is a spin-off from the Never Have I Ever series). Time-wise, it overlaps book one, but the author does a great job of not mixing the plots, so this works as a standalone as does book one.

It’s a fake relationship, as the title suggests. Evan, a businessman with a complex family, picks up Nick at his sister’s hen party at the club. There’s a definite attraction to Nick, but he also likes the fact that Nick isn’t afraid to say what he thinks. He needs someone to be his boyfriend as his father is stepping down. Not gonna go into the ins and outs of his problems, but what’s clear is that Evan has built walls to protect himself and be the person he thinks he needs to be. Nick knows who he is and what he does; he isn’t ashamed and doesn’t let anyone put him down. He’s perfect for Evan. I love that while Evan is protective, it’s actually Nick who gives Evan something he didn’t even know he needed. Their interactions are funny, surprisingly sweet at times, and very hot as they build towards being more than fake. Shout out to Vlado too, Evan’s bodyguard, who is brilliant.

This is a really enjoyable story with a good plot that keeps the tension going. Lovely dynamic between Evan and Nick. A definite recommendation for me.

Fakers with Benefits is a light read that easily holds the attention. Nick is a known character from previous books, but this time, he finally gets his story.

Evan is a new character, but it doesn’t take long to get to know him as well.

The two meet during Evan’s sister’s bachelorette party that took place in Crimson Club. Nick was one of the dancers but caught Evan’s attention, who then decided to make him an offer.

What starts as a business agreement soon turns much more intimate. Evan is careful to be very clear that that’s not part of the agreement or expected, and Nick makes sure to be very firm about what he wants.

Nick is a confident guy who has been on his own for a few years already, despite how young he is. He has close friends who are basically his family, and he’s living with his best friend. He works two jobs to make ends meet, and he likes both of them for different reasons.

Evan comes from money, but he also runs his own company, which is just as successful. He’s a nice person who had been taken advantage of a few too many times in the past by people who only saw his bank account. He has a best friend, who’s also his bodyguard, and with whom he had grown up together, so they’re very close.

I liked the entire story except the bit with Evan’s sister’s fiancé, but luckily, it didn’t take up too much page time.

The other dancers are still there, making appearances and spicing up the story, especially the twins, Zane and River. The third book is Zane’s story. I look forward to the rest of this series!

About the Author

What can I say about myself? It’s kind of like being the new kid in school and being asked to tell everyone a bit about yourself. Anyone else forget everything they’ve ever liked, thought of, and even their name in those moments?

A few facts about me; I’m a veteran, I’m Canadian, and I love books! I’ve been writing my own stories since I was eight and wrote my first novel at sixteen. I’m the first to admit those attempts weren’t my best work, but they started me on a journey of creating stories that has led me to fulfilling my dream of becoming an author. I’ve written and published in several genres under different names, but MM is by far my favorite, and I’m so happy to be able to share my stories with people today.

I currently live on Canada’s east coast with my kiddo and my cats. I have a shoe collecting addiction, and I enjoy taking long walks, discussions with friends, and reading anything and everything I can get my hands on.
