New Release Review ~ The Home Game by Brigham Vaughn

Matty Carlson Playing House with Local Schoolteacher?

Toronto Fisher Cats enforcer, Matt Carlson, was recently spotted in the park with a hot mystery man and four children ranging in age from pre-teen to infant.

A close source indicates that the man is prep school English teacher, Antoni Bianchi, who has been spotted with Carlson in public recently.

Following the cozy park outing, Carlson was photographed with his arm around Bianchi as they returned to Carlson’s home, adding fuel to the speculation that the men are dating and, perhaps, living together.

Just friends or is something else heating up their late summer nights?

Since Carlson’s acrimonious divorce five years ago, he has not been romantically linked to anyone but rumors swirled of involvement with a man prior to the split.

Is the enforcer ready to “switch teams” for good?

When asked to comment on her ex’s sexuality, aspiring actress Courtney Quinn stated, “I don’t know why everyone is surprised. It’s not like it’s the first time he’s been with a man.”

Sour grapes from a jilted lover or secrets from his past revealed?

Check the JockGossip blog for all of the latest developments in this intriguing new chapter of Carlson’s life.

Trigger Warning: The story contains discussions about the death of background characters in a car accident, children being orphaned, and grieving.

Mentions of biphobia, anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment and violence against non-binary characters.

5 Stars
This is book 4 in an absolutely great series and I’ve been waiting for Marty’s story. Sometimes there really are just great guys and Matty is one of those. This guy hasn’t got a mean bone in his body and just wants people to be happy. I adored him.
When he meets Antoni and sees how he’s struggling, he just wants to help. Antoni has been given his friends 4 children after their sudden death and is struggling. He doesn’t quite believe it when Matty offers him his house, but once he accepts it’s genuine, he starts to see just how perfect Matty is—perfect for him too. I loved these two together; friends to lovers- their journey just worked for me. You can see how quickly Matty becomes attached to the family but it’s clear his feelings are genuine. Love the found family aspect of the team too. Obviously, there has to be some tension; this is from the Grandparents trying to get custody of the children. The fake marriage that isn’t really fake is handled really well—I love the way it’s not made a huge drama.
Great book in a great series. Heartwarming, sweet with all the feels, and a great ending. A definite recommendation for me.
