Another witty and smoldering romance from TL Travis. We all have someone that just plain annoys the heck out of us. Jaxson, star bass player for Maiden Voyage, and his next-door neighbor Shep, take this animosity to a new level. Each man tries their best to irritate the other until an over-the-top practical joke goes very, very wrong.
Jaxson is having his true moment of reckoning. His joke causes some serious damage, and he will be lucky if Shep doesn’t sue him within an inch of his life. Guilt overwhelms the prankster rocker, and he realizes he can’t continue going through life being so reckless. I will leave the details of the joke that implodes to the dear readers, because words escape me trying to describe it!
Shep is livid and rightfully so. I have mentioned in the past that hate is such a powerful emotion. Jaxson has tabled his angry feelings and Shep is now floundering with his own emotions. A somber and contrite Jaxson is something he never dreamed he would witness.
Shep is deeper and more complex than his outward appearance portrays. Most people would label him shallow and high maintenance. His past was hurtful, when the people that should have had his back betrayed his trust instead. When Shep relaxes, he dares to show Jaxson the real man that exists under the carefully contrived barriers. Jaxson also begins to allow himself to trust a real relationship. Both men are proceeding with caution.
Can these two, stubborn neighbors realize that letting your enemy become your friend, can lead to so much more? I highly recommend this novel filled to the brim with gorgeous rock stars, an angsty realtor, and just one great rocking time! Happy reading.
